FEATURES OF THE UCJV SERIES

4-layer printing – One graphic, two views

The unprecedented four-layer printing (colour, black, white, colour), available on the UCJV Series, offers the opportunity to create exclusive backlit graphics in which the printed image or a section of it “transforms” when the light source, giving rise to different day and night views. In this way, productions are obtained that stand out for their exceptional visual impact and ability to attract attention.

01

5-layer printing

Multilayer printing allows you to simultaneously perform an unprecedented 5-layer print (color + white + black + white + color) for the creation of graphics and window decals with different graphics on the front and back of the material.

02

Instant drying – immediate use

Prints obtained with the UCJV Series dry immediately even when produced at high speeds. This significantly reduces processing times and output is obtained which is immediately ready for the subsequent finishing phases, without requiring the drying processes required by solvent-based technologies. In many cases the instant drying and extreme scratch resistance of UV prints avoid the need for additional finishes such as lamination, further reducing production times and costs.

03

White ink as added value

The combined use of colored inks and white ink ensures further added value for applications on transparent or semi-opaque materials. Compared to other types of ink such as solvent or latex, UV guarantees superior coverage with lower consumption per square meter, emphasizing the liveliness and chromatic density of the images. The result is superior performance, reduced waste, lower overall costs and graphics with a notable visual impact.

04

Transparent ink as added value

Transparent ink is also available in the different configurations which increases the added value of the products by creating new finishes and making the prints unique.

  • “Glossy finish”, glossy effects to give brilliant effects to high-quality designs
  • “Matte finish”, matte effects to accentuate the texture print
  • “Texture print” gives a 3D effect, printing the transparent ink on multiple layers
05

Integrated cutting capacity

The cutting integrated with the printing function allows you to create high volumes of labels, decals, window and floor graphics, point of sale displays, vehicle decoration, packaging, prototypes and much more with a single machine. Furthermore, compared to other technologies, UV ink does not shrink after printing and does not undergo deformations, further simplifying processing after cutting.

06

CUT ID function

The Mimaki RasterLink 6 software is enriched, with the Plus version, with new cutting features such as ID Cut which makes printing and cutting easier and quicker thanks to barcode reading, automating the production process.

07

Other advanced cutting functions

Half Cut – allows you to cut the liner bonded to the material leaving small joints that can be easily removed when necessary. This simplifies the management of cropped images.

Over Cut (OC) – ensures defined and perfectly cut contours thanks to the overlapping of the cut on the start and end points of the path. Very effective function in the presence of thick or rubbery supports.

Continuous registration mark detection – the marks are detected automatically and continuously to ensure precise cutting without the need for the operator to be present.

Intermediate Crop Marks  – detects intermediate crop marks are recognized in the feed direction and activate four correction points for each segment ensuring greater accuracy on long cutting jobs.

Mimaki Advanced Pass System (MAPS4) for high and stable print quality

MAPS4 is the exclusive Mimaki function for printing without banding. With this function the edges between one step and another are printed shaded, thus avoiding the printing of irregular colours.

08

Print without interruptions

Automatic maintenance for uninterrupted printing thanks to NCU and NRS systems:

  • NCU (Nozzle Check Unit) automatically checks the condition of the nozzles
  • When missing nozzles are detected, they are cleaned automatically
  • If nozzles are still missing after cleaning, NRS (Nozzle Recovery System) will automatically replace them with good nozzles, so you can continue your print job without having to wait for service.

09

Stable printing thanks to the ink circulation system – MCT*

MCT – Mimaki Circulation Technology – is a standard feature which, thanks to the continuous circulation of the white ink in the duct and in the tank, prevents pigments from settling. This results in stable production and a reduction in ink unloading operations and consequently waste.

10

Variable drip technology

Based on the type of material and the density you want to obtain, you can select the size of the ink drop up to a minimum of 4 picoliters. The “variable drops” function offers 3 different optimal drop sizes depending on the print mode for wonderful printing results, without graininess and with uniform shades.

11

Applications

Mimaki UCJV Series allows the creation of various applications including:

  • Signs
  • Backlit panels
  • Banners and flags
  • Point of sale material
  • Labels
  • Wallpaper
  • Posters
  • Wrapping
12

GREENGUARD Gold certified inks

Mimaki UV LED inks are GREENGUARD Gold certified. Products with this certification meet rigorous safety standards for low chemical emissions (VOC) and are optimal for use in sensitive environments such as schools and healthcare facilities.

13

Use in combination with LA-160W hot laminator

The LA-160W laminators, used with Mimaki Vision Laminate films , are the ideal complement for the UCJV Series print & cut systems where there is a need to also laminate the printed material. This offers reliable performance and excellent results by eliminating the silvering effect that can be created when laminating products printed with UV LED inks.

14

Productivity and Convenience

  • Nozzle Check Unit for detecting missing injectors
  • Nozzle Recovery System for injector recovery
  • Automatic Cleaning Function to keep the print head clean at all times
  • Automatic Wiper Cleaner to keep the cleaning system equally clean
  • Jam Sensor to prevent print head damage

PRINT QUALITY

  • Mimaki Advanced Pass System 3  to reduce banding in printing

Nozzle Check Unit

This technology controls the printing nozzles and automatically activates a series of recovery functions, ensuring printing quality and avoiding waste.

Nozzle Recovery System

This technology automatically assigns operational nozzles when an interruption is detected, giving you the assurance that your production and costs will not be affected.

Mimaki Circulation Technology

MCT is a function that prevents pigment sedimentation by periodically circulating the ink in its ink channel, reducing maintenance costs and increasing productivity.

Mimaki Advanced Pass System

Mimaki’s exclusive Advanced Pass System technology uses an advanced algorithm that reduces banding, allowing high print quality even at higher speeds.

Waveform Control

WFC automatically switches the signal to the print head when printing conditions change and ensures consistent image quality.

Variable Dot Technology

VDT is a feature of the piezo print head that allows the creation of ink droplets of different sizes, allowing for smoother gradations and greater detail.
